Economic Development
The skyrocketing cost of energy in South Carolina has become an impediment to economic development. This firm represents the South Carolina Energy Users Committee, an association of large industries who consume substantial amounts of electricity and natural gas, which have organized to appear before the South Carolina Public Service Commission to hold down the rising cost of electricity and natural gas and to promote innovative and competitive electric rates for South Carolina’s manufacturers.
Special Purpose Districts
Created by state law to provide necessary services to citizens in rural or unincorporated areas, special purpose districts operate to provide water, sewer, and other utility services to South Carolinians in underdeveloped areas of the State. Their authority is limited to that provided by statute and special purpose districts must meet all requirements affecting public entities.
